Japanese Hand Painted Vase

I wasn't going to mention the rain but I suppose I have too. We have had a sustained period of torrential rain with lots of flooding all over the place.

Not weather to be out taking photographs!

It so happens I was photographing this vase to have it valued so it also became my Blip for today, although not a very satisfactory one.

There are a lot of these vases around, many of them mass produced and of little value. I know this one is quite old but haven't been able to identify the marking on the base. There is just the outside chance it could be a genuine crafted vintage oriental cloissone and worth lots of money - but highly unlikely.
