The birthday girls

For my birthday today, my sister had some old slides converted into photos. This is one of me and my sis in my gran's back garden. We bloody hated these snow leopard coats & matching bonnets. Mum used to make us wear them to church which was a bit of a trek so we'd be sweltering if it was a warm day. My mum's defence: 'I went into debt for those coats. You were the best dressed kids on the estate' sums up my childhood neatly.

I love the way my sister, on the right, has created her own signature look by wearing my dad's sunglasses. Ros was always an eccentric dresser as a child.

It's my little sis' birthday tomorrow but I don't know how I'm going to top this!
