Life & times of the B-H's

cold and windy int north...

bloody freezing and blowing a hooly in the north of France. Really lovely day though, same nature reserve services for our brekkie stop. Fab brekkie too, full fry up!

Drive around the coast, try and stop for lunch and although late Boo was fab about me not liking anywhere in the town we stopped in. He didn't melt down just got back in the car and as we drove out of town we spottec a little place that turned out to be amazing and had the best meal. perfect last day fayre. I miss ordered as they didnt have what I wanted left (got calamari in a fish stew, had panic oredered) They spotted I was upset and although I kept saying to Stuart I was too embarassed to change it and didn't have the language skills to explain it wasn't what I was expected. They were amazing and I ended up with coquilles saint jaques which were fabulous after smoked salmon. Pudding was a cafe gourmand, an expresso and 3 perfect miniture puddings, pannacotta, creme catalan and chocolate mouse. My idea of heaven. Alfie tried everything! He behaved so well as well, a real credit. The perfect last meal for the holiday.

He clocked up tapeneade, cornichons, a whole nectarine as nectarine, ice cream (oddly hated it before), apricots, chicory, st agur, the fish stew calamari, smoked salmon, moules, salsa as all new things this holiday and that is just what I can remember!

wine shop, ferry and home....
