Chaos and Calm

(Little) Music Man

Ah, Master Four Year Old makes some rather hilarious facial expressions, doesn't he?!

My Male Parental Unit saw a keyboard on sale today, and got it for Master Four Year Old. He's following in my footsteps, my boy. He's got the eye for photography, the hand for art, and the ear for music. It is such a lovely feeling to know he shares these loves with me, and I cannot be accused of 'forcing' them upon him, as is all too common.
I feel bad for the parents and children where their interests do not match. It's hard for the kid being forced into something they don't like, just because their parents think they should like it. And I find it really rather depressing seeing the parents pushing their kids to do something just to live vicariously through their child, and feel like they're getting a second shot at their glory days.

And here I am. I have such a Mama's boy. And he likes the same things. The extreme facial expressions are just a brilliant bonus.

"Son, can you play me a memory?
I'm not really sure how it goes.
But it's sad, and it's sweet,
And I knew it, complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man.
Sing us a song tonight.
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody."
~ Piano Man - Billy Joel
