Rays Birthday

Wake up to the awful reports of the nights events.... can't quite believe it. It takes be back to Sierra Leone and how the civil war started and anarchy spread so quickly as a result of a massive frustration in the government and the economy. It turned into 10 years of violence and unrest. My first contact with it was watching the tanks rolling in at the harbour. The frantic police cars zooming round on Sunday night in London felt like the equivalent ... hopefully this won't go on for so long, but it's spread to Bristol, Nottingham and Birmingham. Jess was sent home early from Birmingham so was able to join us in Browns to celebrate Ray's birthday.

Please don't let it spread to Coventry ... there's loads of police round the corner from my house protecting the big electrical stores. Sad times.
