Tuesday - Bygones

It's difficult to remember what life was like without smart phones, computers, pocket calculators and the like
I do remember learning how to use log tables and a slide rule in school.
Electronic calculators were starting to be affordable when I left school and went to college during my apprenticeship, so it was one of my first "want one, must have" gadget.
Initially we were not allowed to use them for exams and we were urged by lecturers to use log tables and slide rules.
Looking back on them now fondly and thinking they were rather delightful and fun
Found my old slide rule and log tables recently when clearing out some stuff here.
I wonder what people would think if I took the slide rule out at work instead of a calculator?
