This is the equivelent to the Grid at a Formula One Grand Prix. The local gliding club runs a couple of nation class compertions a year, one for single seaters and one for two seater craft. All the competitors get an airo launch and are released at the same place, they then try to fly the course, by passing over set places and making it back to the airfield. The turning points are observed and the winner is the quickest around the course. ( the weathers always rubbish when they hold a comp so Iam blaming them for the lack of harvest !! he he he :-))
