Fish are jumping

As Steven Wright once said, "There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot".

At points today, fishing was as much fun as sitting in my garden torturing worms and trying to untangle a slinky.

But If we hadn't gone, we'd have missed seeing stunning dragonflies, swallows skimming the water and leaping trout.

If only a few of them could have leapt onto our hooks.
