Portland Bill Lighthouse

We went to the top cost me nine bloody quid and as soon as we got up there the eldest boys wanted to come back down again!!! "Ive just paid nine quid to get you up here- read some bloody signs or look out the window" came the reply through gritted teeth..... Last time i went up the lighthouse i think i was a teenager, so i was hoping i would be big enough to see out of the windows this time- no such luck unfortuneately!I had to make do with looking out of the kids window that wasnt there before- not a clear view because there is steel mesh guard on the outside which obscures it quite alot. most excitement from boys came from the discovery of a box marked 'escape kit'. Think they had visions of parachuting down and I didnt have the heart to tell them it was more likely to be ropes for abseiling!!!
