Day 11 Scarborough
21months 19 days
In an unexpected twist to our plans, we had an extra day at the end of our holiday, with a trip to Scarborough. We took our car in for a bit of work before we spent a really lovely morning on the beach with Granny and Grandad. She was thrilled when Grandad produced a bucket and spade for her and half ran-half skipped down the seafront to the beach. She had a lot of fun building sandcastles, and knocking grandad's down (sorry Grandad!) We played chase, we used their big bubble wand they'd bought her, Katie used it as spade, it was great!
We then headed to a seafront cafe and we had freshly made doughnuts. I dont like shop bought doughnuts, Katie neither. But these were delicious! Katie agreed! She of course wanted ice cream (she'll get a shock when its no longer holiday and that doesnt happen all the time!) and enjoyed eating the froth off my (decaff) cappucino.
She fell asleep in the car on the way back to grandads, and to my slight surprise, continued sleeping when transferred to her cot there. She enjoyed lots of colouring and brick building, play with her grandad's house baby and dogs, and lots of other things.
We then had an adventure home, going on a train (she was really excited, and very sad when she fell asleep and woke up realising it was over!) a walk in the rain, which she loved, to a bus. Which she was just as excited about!
All in all, quite a memorable end to an incredibly memorable, and massively precious first holiday for Katie and I, the backblips of which start here. I have been so proud of how Katie has been this past 2 weeks. She's come on noticably in the time we've been away, it's incredible. I've had a truly wondeful time. But I've missed you all, I've missed blip, and actually, yes I am glad to be home.
I've even now finished my own journal backblips. Just the other 1080 photos from the trip to sort.
