modem mortus est.......

Sunday 13th - flash bang thunderclap and modem is no more.
We had a surge protector too but it was probably all too much for it.
Getting service was expensive and difficult, BT didn't want to know as soon as they were told we were with another ISP, wouldn't even test the line. Tiscali did the business and after two lengthy phone calls (at my expense) and uninstalling and reinstalling they agreed the modem was kaput and agreed to send another. TGI worked and we're back on line.
Don't realise how much you miss it. Had to talk to the governor all evening as there was nothing else to do!!!!!!
