Day 8 Clevedon

21months 16days

It was a very strange morning. I was extremely sad to leave Lyme Regis. I, and definitely Katie, have loved having the sea so close, have loved our time meeting and getting to know our gorgeous and fab new friends. Yet we still had other exciting things to come. Sadness won for a little while, I admit!

We went for one last play with "Jack-an-rin". Katie played post-the-cat-kibble (through the cat flap), they all played dress up, bubbles and babies. They cooked us breakfast in the play house, and it was great. I filled up a tad seeing Jayne and the two smiling kids we've enjoyed our time with, stood waving us off.

We had a bit of a horrible journey. Our one-hour drive took three, thanks to horrendous holiday traffic. But we arrived safely, after exhausting our supply of both food and songs. safely with a close friend, Jess' house in Clevedon. Katie had a play in the garden, dragging round a big metal watering can. We had some lunch before going for an explore.

We walked to a lovely park, where we rode a teeny miniature railway. We headed to the beach and Katie paddled in the seawater lake. She discovered the clay in it and used it as bodypaint, on all of us. We went on the beach and she played with the pebbles there, before we climbed some of the rocks to get to a lovely cafe (called Number 5, the Beach). She had a very tasty ice cream whilst playing with their collection of childrens toys.

Walking back through town, we stopped in a few little shops. Katie liked the ones with the pretties: necklaces, bracelets, watches, all foolishly left at toddler height. We soon left that shop. She led us into a fabric and wool shop, which she loved. She touched all the fabric, gently, just exploring. We went into a wonderful chocolate and party favours shop. Katie went round looking at the chocolates, until she'd chosen what she was having. A sheep. Which she held and kept saying baaa. Sheep had a dark chocolate face. She refused to eat anymore until I had chewed it off.

We enjoyed some tea, although Katie was keen to explore more than eat. Not long before her bathtime, Katie was taken to hunt out some bath toys. She decided "not long" wasnt good enough, bath time would be right now!

Another very special day.
