"Big Ben", more correctly called St.Stephen's Tower, on the North end of the Palace of Westminster, was designed by Augustus Pugin & was completed in 1858. It is 316ft high, making it the third tallest free-standing clock tower in the world.
All of which is irrelevant as this is Little Ben & it's somewhat smaller. Situated outside Victoria station, it is made of cast iron & was erected in 1892. Apparently it was removed in 1964, but restored & re-erected in 1981. Anyone know where it was in between?
