Day of two halves
I woke up this morning peaceful, grateful and joyful. My home, my kids, my husband, my garden and the things in it all made me smile.
As the day has gone on and I've been reading on twitter about the idiotic London riots I've become disheartened.
Selfishness, greed, ignorance and violence on this scale scares me. I don't want to have my children grow up in that world. A world where it's ok to wreck someone else's world just because you need the latest in high street goods in yours, because you're bored and frustrated and can't see anything else to do but run riot, where you'll jump onto any old excuse to wreck and cause carnage and hurt. People are homeless, many small businesses won't survive and there are communities being ripped apart. It's really very sad.
This is my new clematis that was bought last week which has burst into flower now it's growing against my wall.
I'm enjoying the simple things today.
