Retro hardware store

Not many of these around anymore - a forerunner of the big box stores. A place where you can buy nails by the pound or a couple of fasteners (screws) instead of a dozen or two in one pack. Of course, there's a price to pay for selection but it's worth it in the long run.

There's always someone ready and available to 'talk project,' get advice, and some tips to make the job more doable. Try that at a big box store. Oh, eventually you will find someone in the big box store to 'help' you, but it's not the same. Many times you know as much or more than the clerk.

I think it's called progress?
