Going Wild In Fife

SWMBO and I headed over to Fife for the Pittenweem Arts Festival (it is on until the weekend if you get the chance).

As usual our first stop was 'our' silversmith where - as usual - we bought some of his incredible work..
It is good to see people admiring '2nd runs' of the silver spoonI commissioned for the Cygnets birth and brooches made from the design that is the centre boss of Bags' (formally known as daughter) wedding tiara which was a gift from us.
Both the spoon and brooches were designed by No1 son so we are obviously very proud to see that our efforts are good enough to be made and sold by one of the countrys top silversmiths.

The main outside installation on the harbour wall this year is several metal sculptues made from scap. Motorbike bits (especially fuel tanks, frames and chains) feature prominently.
Some of the sculptures are life sized (like the camel and crocodiles) and others are much larger (like the iguana and dragonflies).
Unfortunately the weather was not condusive to spending a lot of time taking decent pictures.

There is also a super exhibition of hats made by a resident of the town - milliner Alex Muir - who is retiring from the buisness.
His customers have been the local womenfolk, the well to do and Royalty.

There are more sculpture shots here
