The longest journey starts with the first step....

Spur wing plover, stepping out.

Was surprised how pinky/red its legs were, I haven't noticed it before. They seem to have taken up residence in the park we bike through. I like the yellow shield too, and that seemed very bright, maybe something to do with spring coming.

They do wander out onto the road though, so I hope they don't get hit.

Lovely warm sunny still day - perfect for all outdoor activities - lots of pruning, chipping, and weeding, as well as biking and walking. Will sleep well tonight!
