Prime destination!

We have traveled a long way to see this sight. The whole trip was planned for Chris's 60th and to see the Grand Canyon.  We are not disappointed though we’ve seen other beautiful places on the way.
We set off on a scenic drive within the park today and the is Angel point the penultimate vista. This is a Pinyon pine only found at this elevation together with Juniper pines and shimmering Aspens.It produces small soft seeds/cones beloved of wildlife and also gathered by Native American Indians who used to inhabit this land.

With many spectacular scenes to choose from I chose this for it's symmetry and the Colorado River at the base of the Canyon.
