So long old friend
I grew up with Municipal Stadium in Cleveland, on the lake.
80,000 people could sit there and take in a concert, a football game or see the Indians play.
We decieded that we needed a "new" stadium for Baseball, so we built Jacobs Field. It will always be the "jake".
Naming rights were up and Progressive Insurance bought the rights for the next who knows years. Corporate America ruins another great tradition: Progressive Field, Baaaa Humbug....
Your still the Jake, the place where I took my daughters to their first game, the emotional Jake where I stood at the pitchers mound at the 97 World Series in my Dress Uniform holding the American Flag for Game Five- The hey, were going to the Jake tonight to see a game-a beer and a bag of peanuts with friends...
Your always my Jacobs Field, Clevelands best field of dreams. . .
