On a classic route across the wilderness

The path through the Maantiekuru (Highway Pass) has been obviously used at least from the 17th century as a part of a route from south to the sea of Barents.

This piece of information opens paths for interesting associations. Perhaps people were here trading and transporting goods to be used in southern courts while e.g. Mr Vivaldi was composing his masterpieces. Hmmm...
