On a sunny day on the lakes I turned 29 years old.

...we went out collecting snails in the shallows for our lab this afternoon. It was fine and sunny, but cool. I chattered through the lab we got the students going on afterward. Along the way I found more morel mushrooms, and then a hot shower warmed me up.

At dinner our class surprised me with a big hullabaloo surprise birthday singing in the dining hall - rattling pots and pans, big smiles, and even cake. I was touched, and amazed :)
