The House Martins

This nest is just outside my bedroom window and these guys have had me awake at about 4am every day for the past couple of months.

I say these guys but I?m not sure if they?re even the original nest builders. There was a terrific squabble over this des res a while ago and there was a fatality ? murder at Balkissock Lodge, shock, horror!!

I asked my Twitter friends and it?s quite common for House Martins to fight to the death over the ownership of a nest apparently.

There?s currently the chirping of little ones to add to the usual bustle and commotion so I?ll see if I can get a pic of them some time.
