The Cousins "Do"
Well, what fun I had today trying to get a surprise party for dad organised (for 12) with him and mum around me so much. Our neighbours came to the rescue and took them outside for over an hour. I got the balloons and streamers up, all the food plated and covered, plates and glasses out and furniture all moved and the extension in the table.
My cousins began to arrive at 12.30 and it was lovely to watch M&D's faces as they arrived in small groups. Naturally I was keeping a keen eye, as I'm never sure how much surprise is too much...
No worries- and a FANTASTIC day was had by all. Mum and I wore our 90 years young t-shirts (seen here)!
Dad had a wonderful day and enjoyed every minute with all his nieces and nephews. We had a reunion 3 years ago, so this was amazing to all be together again at such a happy event.
I am so proud of my parents and the way they take everything in their stride. They stick together and help each other in all they do - I guess they always have done really! In fact I am proud of my whole family. They all drove for hours to be here!!
Champagne "happy hour" with more friends tomorrow...birthday eve!! Susan will also be here, ready for the big day on Monday!
