Glacier park

I am glad to report I woke up hangover free today, I know mother will be glad to know I do not rely on whiskey to sleep! I decided I would make a small breakfast for every1 a simple tea and toast affair, which the Aussies ruined with the worst substance known to man, Vegemite! I will be honest it taste like salt and looks like marmite, marmite is awful yet the Aussies have made it worse!!

After a lovely breakfast we headed to glacier national park for a cheeky 10 mile hike through bear country, going through the forest where wild; deer, elk, moose and grizzly bears live is a little scary, but we had our very own protection device, a device that was guaranteed to protect and serve, a device that could be argued to be priceless and would make the other hikers extremely jealous! So what was this device? This device was our very own badger armed with the most lethal of weapons, the weapon most feared by men and bears! I am sure u have already guessed, but we had armed badger with a......................... Cowbell! We were taking on bears with a badger and a bell! Now I am not an expert in bear scaring but surely a gun, knife or even an air horn would have put us in better hands, i am not sure I will survive this trek anymore!

Anyway of on the hike we went, little nervous but we headed forward with very little danger, we came across deers enjoying berries and stunning views before the first sign of danger came in the shape of a moose! I'd never seen a moose before and now i was 10feet away from 1 and it was on our trail! The danger was only there because it had its calf with her and they will attack if hey feel you are trying to harm it's calf! I decided against attacking the calf and jumped of the trail like a scared child into the bushes! After a few minutes the moose had departed and we continued.

Walking in the sunshine it was odd that were able to have a snowball fight, but this being a national park entitled glaciers the surprise element should not have been there! But it was and it was a very enjoyable moment for our very own cowbell girl, as this was her first ever feel of snow! Badger is from Melbourne and as mentioned has never touched snow before! She was loving it and this distraction meant that she fell behind and our bear protection was not with us! So it would only be right that this story now has a bear, and who am I to let you down! With the bear protecter out of the way we found 3 cubs and a mama bear! Luckily they were far enough away that the cow bell was not needed but close enough for us to see, this is a distance I was happy with I can say I have seen a wild bear and survived, definitely a tick of the list!

We carried on the hike to the end where we treated to the best view I have ever seen, the mountains in the back ground with a lack of ice and icebergs at the bottom, it was genuinely breathtaking!

We then took a leisurely stroll back down before Colin, julia x

2 and James decided to run down in some sort of crazy fitness buzz, amazingly this buzz did not affect me and I continued to stroll down at a leisurely pace.

We got back to camp and we were able to enjoy a hot tub session, where c-dogg chatted up 2 women and stayed in the hot run for 6 hours, a new record surely!!

Today has been a good day, and tomorrow I am off to Canada!! Av fun xx
