this chair has been my mum's since she was 11 - it used to sit at my grandparents' kitchen table in Coventry and I have very fond memories of rocking in it and listening to my nan's endless stories. Watching her cigarette burn down and knowing that she would flick it just when the ash looked like it could hold on no longer.
