A little bit of English Heritage

We went down to Ravenglass today. It was a fairly important Roaman port (as well as a popular port for smuggling from the Isle of Man at a later date). Today we actually managed to find the Roman Bath House, well, the remains of it anyway. It is said to be the highest Roman remains in northern England. It is now cared for by English Heritage (who deserve our support because they do a good job and employ our daughter!)
The chap in the photo was there with his slightly noisy children but was doing a fairly good job at trying to get them interested so I forgave him for coming round the corner at the wrong moment.
Chloe was annoyed because the tide was out and the mud fairly firm. We were dquite pleased about that!
