Oh, Texas!

A blip of the Texas state flag. Sorry it is backwards, too lazy and too blistering hot to go around to the other side. But I like the bright blue sky for a backdrop.

This flag stands for a great deal of pride, so much so that elementary school children in Texas learn the pledge, which they say every morning. "Honor the Texas flag, I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas..." Think we may be the only state in the union that does this, perhaps?!

I've always thought Texans were overzealous conservative nutters (I'm allowed to say that cause I'm a native Texan AND I'm pretty sure the rest of the country would agree), but I know I'll miss this place if I ever have to leave. It's a culture you kinda hate to love, but there is a charm about it you just can't shake. Sorta like the crazy uncle every family has. Some endearing quality you can't put your finger on, but such that you can't write him off completely either.
