SWIMMING IN MAINE
The water is cold (50 degrees) in Penobscot Bay, Maine. I was surprised that the kids went in to swim. It is a very rocky beach full of seaweed. Maine claims this is the Lobster Capital of the World.
Wabanaki Indians, in particular the Penobscot tribe, for thousands of years hunted, fished, and gathered clams and other food in this bay area. Ancient remains of their campsites have been found on the bay's shores and islands.
I've given up trying to pronounce PENOBSCOT.
