The joys of nature.
The Joys of Nature
Along the familiar path I make my way,
As, all around me, majestic trees sway.
Birds call to each other from many a hidden perch
In this mixed woodland of conifer, oak and birch.
Playful young squirrels chase each other about
And my spirits are lifted, without a doubt.
If I tread carefully, I may spot a deer,
Though, if it senses me, I'll only see its rear
As into the distance it gracefully bounds,
Shy of unfamiliar sights and sounds.
I revel in the delights of such a beautiful place,
The joys of nature always bring a smile to my face.
I could spend hours here, lost in thought,
If I need any answers, it's here they're sought.
A comfortable cloak of tranquillity envelops me,
There's nowhere else I'd rather be!
