Magpies in the early evening light

Before I cooked my supper, I looked out at the view from the back of the house. The clouds were dark grey, with occasional chinks of light reaching us. The rain had ceased. Then a clearing patch of sky appeared towards the south.

I looked for birds, scuttling around in the strong breeze, trying to find a branch to be secure on.

I waited for this shot of the two magpies at the top of the sycamore, and it nearly matched my intentions, which is unusual.
