Before they mostly all migrated home and hid in various piles of stuff, I kept at least two Official Corporate Freebie Pencils in my drawer, at least one filled with HB for note-taking and at least one other filled with 2B for doodling or note-taking on poor-quality paper. I now can't recall which way round they were but distinguished them by wrapping an elastic band round the grip of one. I noticed this one in my drawer recently and finally got round to buying some replacement leads (of both softnesses) at the weekend, discovering when I got round to refilling it that the rubber band, rather than going the normal way of old rubber bands and becoming dry, inelastic and friable, had instead started exuding an unpleasant stickiness.
