Do you eat the seeds?

I just cut up my first watermelon. I've eaten watermelon before, but I don't think I've ever chopped one up.

Anyway, I don't know if your meant to eat the seeds or not. If I'm eating it, I pick them out, but I've only ever eaten it pre-prepared before and there seem to be a HUGE number of seeds in the one I just chopped up...So I don't know now...do you eat them? Or spend forever picking them out?

Its dilemmas like this that make life confusing. Why not put the seeds all in one central area to scoop out, like a normal melon? Why must you be so awkward, mr watermelon???!!!
