Cupani
I thought I knew what my image for today would be when I came across a huge swathe of Viper's-bugloss on the Downs including some unusual all-pink ones. Then, on the way home I saw these sweet peas growing in a garden and since its my 100th blip decided it had to be a photo these. I haven't grown them myself but I believe they are the 'old fashioned' variety known as Cupani. These are the original variety sent, in 1699, by a Sicilian monk called 'Cupani' to Robert Uvedale the horticulturalist at Enfield. Its from these seeds that all modern varieties of Lathyrus Odoratus have been created.
