Sunset after a scorcher
Today was a scorcher with temperatures topping 27C (well, that's hot for us here in central England). After working in the house in the morning I headed off into town - not in the car but on the bus. One of the advantages of stopping working is that you get free travel on the bus - so on this trip I saved on petrol and car park fees and the bus takes you right into the shopping centre.
Managed to pick up a few bargains in the sale at the walking shop and headed back home.
The day ended with a beautiful red sky and I just managed to catch the sun going down, got back home and the heavens opened. We had heavy rain for the rest of the evening but it was just what the garden needed - no watering tomorrow morning! It will get the courgettes, butternut squash and climbing French beans growing a treat...
For the record: 27C, humid and heavy rain later
