Another day, another sunset
There was a distinct autumn feel in the air this morning, cool and damp. Certainly the coldest day so far, so much so that I wore long trousers and socks ! A first since being here.
The day brightened when we were having breakfast and our usual visitors arrived walking across the lawn. We often have a family of 6 - 8 Californian quail which visit ( I know they are a family and it is the same ones each day !), but today there were over 30. They stayed quite a while and I took a lot of shots and thought another first, a Blip by 8.30am. There were a few good shots but the best were of single birds, the flock were too spread out to make a good shot.
However this evening the family called by to deliver two large pieces of chocolate cake and as they left the sky was brilliant.
So what to publish? The quail opportunity will be there each day, but sunsets like this are not so common.
The sunset won, not a first, a second as the observant among you will recognise the view from our front door.
