Cheap petrol in Greendale
We never made it off the Longleat Estate today but the good news is that we have found some sub-£1 per litre petrol. The bad news is that it is in the fictional, animated village of Greendale, home to Postman Pat.
They have a Postman Pat Village here at Longleat and, after a lazy morning followed by a BBQ lunch we wandered into the grounds for some more activities as the crowds dwindled.
It is really good as we are all of 250 yards away from the attractions and they remain open until 7pm during the school holidays. However, most people have headed off by 5pm and it means that we got to visit the house without competing with hordes of coach parties. We didn't visit the famous Murals created by Lord Bath himself as you have to arrange a viewing given that they are in the private part of the house and the kids were already getting fidgety.
I got a few more shots of the house from the other side of the lake today but decided that some more low light shots of the Longleat House might just stretch you to breaking point or switch you off my journal. So, when Alex declared that his favourite part of the day was the Postman Pat Village, my mind was made up.
Sorry that I have not been commenting but I have to pay for my online time and I have decided that I ought not to spend all my evenings on holiday trawling everyone else's journals and commenting. Will catch up on my return but thanks to those who have commented on my holiday blips to date.
