The kindness and affection of a dear friend

This headstone is just outside the back door of my work, between where the smokers congregate and 4 small beds of culinary herbs. It reads "In memory of the kindness and affection of a dear friend", and there's something about that sentiment coupled to the unspecified (and therefore universal) person that makes it the most poignant object in Greyfriars Kirkyard. Far more poignant that the scores of visitors who ask "where's Tom Riddle's grave?"

I often make lemonbalm tea from the plant in the lower left of the shot.
