Pigeons at dawn

It wasn't really at dawn

Ignorance is bliss No, it?s not... especially when you spend hours hanging out your window in the wee small hours aiming for a spectacular close-up of seagulls in flight.

So having abandoned these lofty aims until camera upgrade is possible and some basics skill are in place, went for a late afternoon stroll around the old town.
Lots of activity - some would say too much - and was sure I?d some good potential Blips to choose from.

Arriving home and near the top of the stairs, an old spiral staircase I heard the manic fluttering of wings. There was a pigeon trapped in the stairwell . Some idiot one had left a stair window open but it had gone up a level and was hurling itself against the closed window there.
Couldn't see it at first, because of the circular nature of the stairs and when it was finally in sight, there was a bit of a stare down.
I guess it was measuring me up, then suddenly, it flew right at me!
Draw your own conclusions.

Ok, so there are limitations, mine, the camera's. It's too low in the composition, etc, etc. and it?s not a seagull elegantly soaring...But I don?t care. It's in flight and close up!
It was a gift.

the pigeon...
Having ignored the trail of breadcrumbs leading it to the open window, it finally escaped to freedom by squeezing through a tiny broken window pane, ready to fill our close with more pigeon shit doo

It's not that Seagulls are that great, in fact they're a real nuisance around where I live
- but they do have an elegant way of soaring.
