Empty Lyneham

I took a wander onto the roof to watch a hercules fly past for a repatriation of an airman who died abroad. It feels weird to look at the empty pan with no hercules. When I first arrived here in the 90s the pan was covered with old K model hercules.... but now they have left and gone to Brize. In some way it makes leaving Lyneham and the RAF easy.

The end of an era!
