I love beautifully grained wood. So when I first saw the bedroom suite a good pal inherited from her great-aunt way back in the 80s, I fell in love with it and was VERY envious. Eventually my pal had to move to a much smaller place which was way too small to accomodate a hulking great Victorian suite, and she offered us first option on it. We bought it without second thoughts and it's been with us ever since. I hope never to have to part with it. The sheer joy I get from looking at that wonderful grain which reminds me of water-droplets on satin never ceases to amaze me. It's almost certainly a kosher antique now. They just don't seem to make stuff like that today.
