Golden Rays on a Summer Morning
Well I made it through the entire month of July without missing an entry in my blip journal, and now it's time to start August.
There was a lot of moisture in the air this morning at 7:30 when I took these pictures and it created some very dramatic sun rays. These rays are fleeting, as the sun rises, they begin to evaporate very quickly. Even changing your viewing location by a few feet can make them seem to disappear.
They look beautiful, but as the sun starts to heat up all of this moisture in the atmosphere it begins to feel like you're in a steam bath. Our temperatures have been in the low 90s for the past several days and tomorrow the humidity is predicted to be quite high, meaning that the heat index (what the temperature actually feels like) is going to be over 100 degrees.
All of this heat and humidity makes me rather depressed since it is almost impossible to enjoy being outside. It makes me really miss being in the Pacific Northwest.
