an itching in my thumbs

Late Light

From the time I woke up this morning, I knew exactly what I was going to blip today. I was expecting a package, and was 100% ready to blip the contents.

Well, let me tell you: never decide to blip something you don't have yet lest it decide not to arrive. It is now 8p and I have given up most of the hope I had for that blip (tomorrow is another day, I suppose) and settled on this one instead.

I love windchimes - always have as far as I can remember. Love the sound, especially wooden ones. One of my many dreams for my future middle-of-nowhere home is to have a windchime garden like Aunt Meg in Twister. (You want to click that link: believe me. Also, I love Twister. And no, the windchime garden isn't even in the link, I tried.)

These chimes have seen the winds, sun, and rain of many places - from coast to coast and in between. And the perfect evening Boston light. This says something about where I live (at the moment) to me.

A few things I am currently obsessed with:

1. Spotify - Brits, you've had this for a while, right? Well, I love it. It's downright amazing. It's like if Pandora and Grooveshark had a baby with an iTunes interface. Cannot. Rave. Enough.

2. Bon Iver by Bon Iver - This album is blowing my mind on a daily basis. Something about it to me just says gin and tonics, Texas summer night, porch swing, fireflies, and holding hands. On repeat all day long.

3. Pinterest - Seriously, this is the worst possible site for someone like me. I am addicted to lists and pinboards in real life, but an electronic version? This could be dangerous.

4. Root Beer Floats - I'm not even sure how this became a "4 Waldo Ave" thing but Evan and I have these all the time. It'd almost be ridiculous if I didn't feel somewhat vindicated by all the hiking I do all day and number 5.

5. Running - After almost a year (dear god, that's appalling), I am finally back into the swing of things with my running. No pain (thank you, thank you, thank you) and doing around 15 miles a week right now. Prepping to run the Austin Marathon in February and then onward to bigger and better endurance runs from there. I've got absurdly big plans, but doing the marathon in February is where my sights are currently.
