Garden on the Menu Again
Never turn your back on a bright yellow beacon of a vegetable. Only five minutes ago, we'd eaten courgettes and I swear these appeared from nowhere. Don't be fooled into thinking you're safe with a vegetable this obvious, they're cunning and stealthy.
Runner beans? The name gives them away, a vital clue for the unwary gardener. You expect these beauties to race skywards and be laden with juicy green ribbons.
So courgettes are once again on the menu. Sliced, fried in olive oil, sprinkled with black pepper with a covering of Parmesan cheese on the plate.
The runner beans were sliced diagonally into 2cm chunks and added to a pan with olive oil, garlic, a little paprika and chopped tomatoes. A few peas joined them later on.
I hope you like it.
