Poppy

I found Poppy in the middle of a rural road one morning when I was on my way to work. Thinking that the ball of grey fluff was just a dead hedgehog I veered round to not squish her, as I did she turned her head and these two beautiful blue eyes looked straight at me. I couldn't leave a little kitten alone to die in the road so I slammed on the breaks, jumped out, picked her up, and took her with me to work in a jute shopping bag.

Being moderately allergic to cats I would never have considered getting one in normal circumstances, but she worked her way into our affections. So Poppy stayed with us. And though those eyes lost that lovely baby blue, Poppy is still my baby girl.
