Last Saturday of July
This is not only the last Saturday of July, but it is also the last Saturday we'll be enjoying Tristan for a very long time. We probably won't see him again until next summer. He'll leave here this coming Monday morning for Oklahoma.
Tristan spent the day at our daughter's home; she is Tristan's Great Aunt Dede. Because we had a free schedule, we drove to the beach for lunch and found what we knew we'd find and should have known better -- traffic every where. That's okay. We know lots of back streets. So we purchased a takeout lunch from Baja Fresh and a frozen yogurt from Golden Spoon in Corona del Mar and sat near the entrance to Balboa Island to enjoy our little two-person picnic. After a couple hours in the beach community we headed home to enjoy the remainder of the day.
In the evening we met our daughter Dede, her son Emerson, and little Tristan at Wahoo's Fish Tacos for dinner. (Our son-in-law John and granddaughter Ashly were at a family event for John's side of the family.) The two top photos are from Wahoo's. After dinner we headed to the frozen yogurt place for dessert. Tristan loves the "Mint Cookie" flavor. When we all had our fill of yogurt, we headed outside and stopped in a couple shops. Tristan was beginning to get cranky and misbehaving, and we all knew he needed to be getting to bed. When we got scolded at one point, he started to cry and pout. I hugged him and rubbed his little back and tried to assure him that going home to get in bed was a good thing to do, so we all did our hugs and headed our separate ways for our homes.
Mr. Fun & I came home to our place, put on our swimsuits, and sat in the lovely heated bubbling spa. It was a great way to finish the day.
Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
