This is Kristina's Life

The Bahamas

Today was our first full day in the Bahamas. Having woken up bright and early (at noon...whoops), Mom and I decided to hike over to the only two restaurants on the island. Karin and Dad refused to go. While the simple half-mile hike would've been quite enjoyable in the winter, I wouldn't recommend it on the last day in July. The air was so hot and humid that had the restaurants been any farther, I would've passed out.

Nevertheless, we made it and 3 glasses of ice water later, I ordered a $16 chicken caesar salad and Mom had a $12 chicken breast. Island living is expensive as hell. For the trip back, I ordered a rum punch to-go. It made the uphill walk back far more enjoyable.

Finally, soaked in sweat, sunscreen, and bug spray I decided it was time to wash off in the ocean. I stuck my brand new camera in my brand new underwater case and ventured out with my brand new snorkel gear. Plenty of new goodies to ruin on this trip. Luckily, the case didn't leak (THANK GOD!) and I managed to take some decent pictures from the beach right out front of our rental house.

I realize I'm incredibly lucky to be on such a wonderful vacation so I'll take plenty more pictures and put them up on my webshots account soon enough.

Thanks for reading! :)
