Beauty in the eye of the beholder...

So, I finally cave in to joining Blip, please let me begin by opening my journey.

I am sure there are millions, perhaps billions of images of beautiful butterflies, perfect wings, vibrant colouring, visually stunning (I have taken a couple myself!). Well I chose to blip this picture taken today of a suicidal butterfly, yes, she dive bombed head first but was promtly saved from drowing in a bucket of water in my back garden...then gently drying her wings on my sons hand.

She sat there for quite some time, gently moving her wings up and down, appreciating the fact that her fate had just been changed at the hands of a young boy, who was now providing a comfort spot so she could dry her wings in the sun.

After trying to take flight and failing, landing back down where she took off, a little more time was obviously needed to allow for more drying, then she finally fluttered away stunningly after gently tickling my sons hands...perhaps a way of saying thanks????

She may not be a looker, her wings are far from perfect, her colour fading, she has certainly lived by the looks of her...and now she lives another day and I think she is beautiful...do you?
