Wheee!
The last time I mentioned the carnival that's in town, I was more or less complaining about it.
I had to ask myself: Do I really want to be the kind of person that complains about fairground fun?
After all, my gripe is just with stupid drunks and cold weather in July. I have nothing against scream rides and happy, blinking lights.
So in order to prove that to myself I went out and searched for a scene that would cast a benign light on this fair. And then I shot it on black & white film, because I didn't want to overcompensate with a candy colored, happy image.
There. I feel better now.
