Spikybeautiful

There's loads of gorse on the embankments as you drive along the A1 - and over the past couple of weeks, it's looked amazing,

As I got finished early today, I took the old road home: taking a more leisurely route made it easier to stop and get some shots of gorse with Traprain Law in the background. The yellow of the flowers is really inviting - but the spikiness of the thorns is less so.

Which is something you find out the hard way, when you're trying to get some close-up pictures. Ooyah.
