Stabilized?

On a tripod, two photos were taken of house numbers. Numeral 7 was taken with Image Stabilization on and the 2 with IS off. View LARGE and note sharpness around the screws and on the background of the numeral 2. Also note stucco detail. This indicates that we should not use IS unless it is really needed for slow shutter speeds. From now on I will leave IS off.

Today I also confirmed that if photos are captioned in Lightroom, or probably anything else, uploading to blipfoto will copy the captions into blipfoto's description. Also keywords will copy to blipfoto's tags. Lesson is: add keywords and tags to your photos.

(Later) It may be that IS Off only applies to tripod shots, not especially to handheld.
